That’s right! The Christmas Bizarre Bazaar is BACK! It’s been 20 years (well it FEELS like 20 since the pandemic) but we’re back and weirder than ever! With over 30 unique, strange, hand picked, weirdo artists, all from Thunder Bay, we’re ready to go on Dec 6 from 10-4 at the BBAC (Baggage Building Arts Centre, at the waterfront beside the old train station, across from Bight & the Skating rink). This year we have the ENTIRE building to fill with artists that are all bringing remarkable,uncommon art. This isn’t your grandma’s craft sale. Started in 2014 and running for 6 years, it was created by Merk to develop an art sale/show that specialized in art that was ‘off the beaten path’. After years of participating in sales that had him beside watercolours of the Sleeping Giant and crocheted doilies (no shade meant, Tbay has amazing artists all around), as he had zombie graphic novels and the like, he felt like he didn’t fit. But he did! He had a TON of local artist friends who made weird stuff too! So why not gather all the weirdos? And a strange baby was born. Returning as the host is the one, the only, METAL SANTA! Yup. Merk found him wandering the wilds of Mission Marsh and brought him in from the cold with the promise of taffy and yak milk to meet you at the door. Are you brave enough to look him in the eye, or pose with him for charity photos? Also joining us this year…. The Krampus Ladies. More on that to come.
