What happens when eight participants, one mysterious box, and a lifetime of memories collide? Dave and the others have been stuck in the same room for as long as they can remember, repeating their stories, chasing “perfect” versions of the past, and trusting the Box to tell them what’s true. But when Gabriala suddenly appears, everything begins to shift. Her arrival stirs old memories, new questions, and a spark of wonder that makes the group see their pasts, and themselves, in ways they never have before.

As they soon discover, memories aren’t always what they seem, especially when we’ve only ever seen them through our own eyes. And sometimes the most magical thing of all is finding the courage to open the door to something new.

Created with and performed by local youth, The Box is a raw, funny, and deeply moving production about perception, imagination, and the stories we carry. Enchanting and suitable for audiences of all ages, this heartfelt show invites youth, families, and community members to join us at Magnus Theatre for an unforgettable experience.
