Learn a unique skill and craft lifelong memories during Fort William
Historical Park’s Artisan Workshop Weekend.
On Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8, 2026, participants will be able to work alongside one of Fort William Historical Park’s heritage artisans in a small group setting to create their very own 19th century inspired items.
Available workshops:
• Blacksmithing Basics
• Blacksmithing – Fire steel forging
• Carpentry – Hearth Stool
• Heritage Fibre Arts – Wool spinning and dyeing
• Indigenous Skills – Moccasin slippers
• Indigenous Skills – Mukuks (birch bark baskets)
• Indigenous Skills – Snowshoe weaving
• Tinsmithing – Candle luminaries
Workshop participants will also be treated to a historic-themed lunch. Workshop fees range from $85 to $300 (+HST) per participant.

Preregistration is required for all workshops, spaces are limited. Participants must be 16 years of age or older. No previous experience in the artisan skills is necessary to participate in these workshops. All workshops include instruction, tools, and materials
